Human Resources Officer – part time – 20 hours per week

The Role
The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing professional, timely and culturally appropriate HR advice and support to managers and staff in line with operational objectives, policies and procedures, and legislation.
The role has a generalist focus and supports all aspects of HR including (but not limited to):
- recruitment and selection
- learning and development
- HR administration including employment contracts, letters and other documentation
- performance management
- remuneration
- risk management
- health and well-being
- workplace safety, and
- HR reporting.
- The position also supports the finance and administration team with other activities as required.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Experience in a similar HR Coordinator, Advisor or Officer role in the areas listed above. Desirable – gained in a community service or NFP environment – within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- Computer literacy in a variety of software packages. Desirable – exposure to payroll and/or HRIS software.
- High level of communication skills; written, verbal, report-writing (desirable).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in quality and risk management systems and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise and coordinate own workload and time management skills; as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing and able to work within a culturally competent context and Kurbingui’s mission, vision and values.
- Effective communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal, as well as report-writing experience.
- Demonstrated core competencies, attributes and capabilities as listed in the Position Description.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in human resources, business, management or similar.
- Current first aid and CPR certificate (desirable).
- Open Queensland Drivers Licence (desirable).
- Have, or be able to acquire, a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) prior to commencement.
- Have or willing to undergo a Police Check.
