National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day Celebration
HIPPY Deception Bay proudly celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day at our Gathering yesterday with a very special cultural activity painting real emu eggs.
This hands-on experience gave our children and families the opportunity to connect with culture through creativity, storytelling and shared learning. As families carefully painted their emu eggs, conversations flowed about the importance of culture, identity and the strength that comes from passing knowledge from one generation to the next.
At HIPPY Deception Bay, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for children to develop a strong sense of belonging while celebrating the world’s oldest continuing cultures. Thank you to all of our wonderful families for making the Gathering such a special celebration.
