Child Safety
Indigenous Family Support Service

(funded by the Dept of Communities)
KYDA under the Yeaca Dhargo Indigenous Family Support Service (IFS) will provide up to 3-6 months support if you are having difficulties in your life with raising your children or experiencing family breakdowns.

Under the Family Support Program, if eligible, you will be appointed a case manager, who will walk hand in hand with you through these difficult times.
All the staff from the IFS service operate within very strict guidelines in respect to code of conduct and confidentiality. All staff undertake training on a regular basis to build and sharpen their skills in client capacity building. The family support is about strengthening peoples capacity to deal with life’s issues.

The program operates from a number of venues including:

ZILLMERE: 425 Zillmere Road, Zillmere. Phone : 3162 3146
WYNNUM: 74A Florence Street, Wynnum. Phone : 3393 4424
SHERWOOD: 38 Thallon Street, Sherwood. Phone: 3278 4856

Support can only be provided if referred by a Child Safety Officer, your school or medical professional.
The aim of the program is to reduce the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families involved with the Child Protection Services.
