Employment and Training

In the 10 years, up until 2012, KYDA had operated a successful employment and training hub providing practical skills in construction, environmental protection practices, community welfare and administration.

As a result of government changes (2012) and the decision to cut funding for work placement programs, Kurbingui along with many other community based organisations are now unable to deliver these type of practical programs for our Indigenous job seekers.

Even though the practical training skills program has ceased, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers continue to access KYDA for support and advice in the employment area.

KYDA will continue to source opportunities for job seekers in the public and commercial environments as the need to become job-ready and achieve real employment outcomes is a constant requirement.
