About “The Kurbingui Star”

The Kurbingui Star  in February 2003 funded by Department Employment and Training as an employment training strategy. It is aimed at improving work ethic, literacy and ultimately the employment prospects of Indigenous participants via the development, design and production of a monthly community newsletter – the “Kurbingui Star”.
Recent programming and staff changes have impacted on our ability produce the “Star” in a newspaper form but we will produce a monthly newsletter to keep you informed.
 
Tell us a story
 Do you have a story to share with the Kurbingui Star readers?
• Maybe an interesting story about yourself or someone else.  
• Or a yarn that you were told from your elders that’s not necessarily true. A fictional or funny story, An old family tale such as “How the turtle got its shell”.  
• A personal profile of an Indigenous person that has struggled and succeeded in their own right.  
• Someone who may have started their own business.  
• Any type of good news that relates to the Indigenous community.
This is what we want to hear from you! 
Send them in by fax, post, or email.  Attach photos if possible, of yourself and/or the person you are writing about.
